Mr. Hancock is a minor character in Forrest Gump. He is principal of Greenbow County Central School and is played by actor Sam Anderson in the movie.
In the movie Mr. Hancock appears in the scene where Forrest's Mother takes Forrest to school because she wants him to have the finest education in the world. While Forrest waits outside on a bench, his mother and Mr. Hancock talk inside his office.
Mr. Hancock tells Mrs. Gump that Forrest has an IQ of 75 and that the state requires an IQ 80 to attend Public Schools and that Forrest will have to go to a special school and that he'll just be fine, but Mrs. Gump insists that her son will have the same opportunities as everyone else, and that there must be something that can be done to get Forrest into the Public School.
Mr. Hancock asks her if there is a Mr. Gump to which Mrs. Gump replies "He's on vacation". That night, Mr. rrest to be put into the school despite having the low IQ. When t his Mama sure does care about his schooling and asks Forrest if he doesn't say much. Forrest replies by repeating the sound of Mr. Hancock having sex, to which Mr. Hancock leaves embarrassed. Mr. Hancock doesn't appear throughout the rest of the movie after this.
